The lands which our project started are located in a hilly area situated between southern summit of the Alpi Apuane and the Versilia coast, within the towns of Massarosa and Camaiore.
The valley, being on the inner sides of the hill, not more than 200 meters above the sea level, is characterized from cold summers and harsh winters, even if it has little kilometers from the coast.
Thanks to the rich humidity and to particular climatic conditions, many plant species that usually we notice in coastal or pre-alpine zones coexist here, giving life a natural spectacle really valuable especially in the summer.
Firs, maritime pines, olive trees alternate themselves at a distance of a few meters one from each other, the dense and varied undergrowth vegetation presents surprising and easily appreciated varieties with walks along the street of the Francigena, or even by the many paths obtained from woods and olive groves.
The quality of the air we breathe, especially from spring to fall, is an exceptional factor in the whole valley, valued and rediscovered especially in the last years also from a tourist point of view.
